Once you have signed your contract and paid your deposit, you are ready to move in.
NB! You will not be given access to your room before the deposit has been paid. If you pay the same day you move in, you will have to send confirmation from your bank that it has been paid.
If you want to move in before your contract starts, you must contact us via email at email@example.com. This may be possible if the previous tenant has moved out and the unit is ready for a new tenant. In these circumstances, you must pay from the day you move in.
Remmen and Bjølstad IV have an electronic lock system.
In order to access these doors you will be granted a personal key code.
Your key code will be sent to you via email on the same day your contract begins.
Should your moving in date fall on a weekend the key code will be sent to you the preceding Friday. Please note that the key code will not activate until the day your contract begins.
The key code grants you access to the exterior doors of the building, as well as the door to personal your room.

You will be able to use the code to open the doors for a short period of time:
Fall: July 1st - August 31st, Spring: January 1st – January 31st
In order to access your housing after these dates, you must visit our office in the E1-building at the college university. Here you will register your student ID-card as the key card to you housing.
Please note that the electronic post boxes can only be opened with a card.
All of our housings are furnished with a bed, desk, chair and wardrobe. The kitchen contains the necessary white goods and you have access to a collective laundry.
You should bring the following with you:
A duvet, pillows and bedlinen
Personal belongings and clothes
Towels and soap
A network cable (so you can connect to the Internet before you have been given a username and password for the wireless network)
You must bring your own washing powder to wash clothes. We put out a ‘starter pack’ containing various washing products in shared collectives at the start of the year. Once you run out of soap and cloths, you are responsible for buying more. The packs do not contain washing-up liquid or hand soap.
You can bring your own furniture, but you are not allowed to remove any of the furniture provided.

Studio apartments and couple’s apartments:
Students living in studio apartments and couple apartments must bring their own kitchen equipment.
We sell sets of bedlinen for 450 NOK.
These contain a duvet cover, pillow cover and sheet. If you want one, send an email, firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll put it in your room ready for you.
No, SiØ only insures the building complex. You are responsible for insuring your own personal belongings by taking out a private general insurance.
The National Union of Students in Norway offers a tailormade insurance package for students. This includes general-, travel- and accident insurance, everything you need for a secure student life at a student-friendly price.
The rent are invoiced the 1st of each month and fall due on the 15th the same month.
There are three ways to pay your rent. You can pay via eBill, your online bank or Netaxept.
You can pay your rent by logging in to your page on UniAlltid. Click on ‘pay invoice’ to go to the payment page.
You can pay your rent in your online bank by clicking on ‘view invoice’. This will display the KID reference number and the account number. Download the invoice if you want all of the invoice details. NB! It is important that you use the right KID. All invoices comes with a different KIDnr (identification nr.).
You will be given a username and password so you can log on to the wireless network at Østfold University College, which provides the broadband network.
All rooms have a cabled network socket. We recommend that you bring your own network cable so you can connect to the internet before you have been given a username and password for the wireless network.
You can buy a network cable from the SiØ bookshop.
If you are experiencing network problems, please try the following:
1. Check your device works in your unit
2. Check your neighbour’s device is working in their unit
3. Check if your device works in your neighbour’s unit
4. Check if your neighbour’s device works in your unit
If at least one device works in each unit, then the problem lies not with the network and the user must check their own device for errors.
If the problem persists, contact the University college’s IT Help services.
IT Operations accepts the temporary use of private wireless access points on the condition that these use channels 1, 6 or 11 in the 2.4Ghz band (IEEE 802111g) or any channel in the 5Ghz band.
If you use other channels, you will weaken the Eduroam wireless network.
If you discover a defect or deficiency in your unit while you are living there, you should report this via your page on UniAlltid. This could be anything from defective underfloor heating to problems with taps, radiators, lightbulbs, etc.
NB: You must check the box labelled ‘Accept Entry’ if you are comfortable with the caretaker letting themselves in to look at the problem when you are not present. If you are not comfortable with this, you must call the caretaker on +47 69 60 84 00 and arrange an appropriate time.
This only applies for problems inside your private room.
