Once you have signed your contract and paid your deposit, you are ready to move in.
NB! You will not be given access to your room before the deposit has been paid. If you pay the same day you move in, you will have to send confirmation from your bank that it has been paid.
If you want to move in before your contract starts, you must contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. This may be possible if the previous tenant has moved out and the unit is ready for a new tenant. In these circumstances, you must pay from the day you move in.
Remmen and Bjølstad IV and V have an electronic lock system.
In order to access these doors you will be granted a personal key code and a key card. The key card can be picked up at the SiØ housing office at Bjølstad or in the Tower.
Your key code will be sent to you via email on the same day your contract begins.
Should your moving in date fall on a weekend the key code will be sent to you the preceding Friday. Please note that the key code will not activate until the day your contract begins.
The key code grants you access to the exterior doors of the building, as well as the door to personal your room.

You will be able to use the code to open the doors for a short period of time:
Fall: July 1st - August 31st, Spring: January 1st – January 31st
In order to access your housing after these dates, you must visit our office in the E1-building at the college university. Here you will register your student ID-card as the key card to you housing.
Please note that the electronic post boxes can only be opened with a card.
Our housings are furnished. Your personal room contains a bed, a desk, and a chair. There are also cupboards and a wardrobe at your disposal. The kitchen area contains all necessary appliances, such as a refrigerator, a stove and a dishwasher. You also have access to the collective laundry room.
You Should Bring the Following Items:

A duvet, pillows and bed sheets
Ethernet cable (in case you want to connect to the internet if you have yet to receive both username and password for the wireless network)
We offer a ‘starter pack’ containing various cleaning products in shared collectives at the beginning of each semester. Should these run out you are responsible for obtaining more through purchase. The ‘starter pack’ excludes soaps used for personal hygiene.
You can bring your own furniture, but you are not allowed to remove any of the furniture provided.
The kitchens in collectives are equipped with basic kitchen equipment.

Studio Apartments and Couple’s Apartments:
These types of housing are not fitted with kitchenware, and you must bring your own.
We sell bed sets 620,- NOK.
The set includes a duvet, pillow and bed linen. If you wish to purchase one of these sets, send an email to email@example.com. We will place your purchase in your room prior to your arrival. You will receive an invoice in your UniAlltid account.
Visit us at the housing office in the Tower or contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will give you access to a vacant storage space if teher are any available.
Buildings A and B have open storage spaces on each floor.

The rent are invoiced the 1st of each month and fall due on the 15th the same month.
There are three ways to pay your rent. You can pay via eBill, your online bank or Netaxept.
You can pay your rent by logging in to your page on UniAlltid. Click on ‘pay invoice’ to go to the payment page.
You can pay your rent in your online bank by clicking on ‘view invoice’. This will display the KID reference number and the account number. Download the invoice if you want all of the invoice details. NB! It is important that you use the right KID. All invoices comes with a different KIDnr (identification nr.).
We do not recommend the use of Vipps as we do not have an agreement with them.
You will be given a username and password so you can log on to the wireless network at Østfold University College or Fagskolen i Viken, which provides the broadband network.
All rooms have a cabled network socket.
We recommend that you bring your own network cable so you can connect to the internet before you have been given a username and password for the wireless network. You may want to bring your own router to use in your private room.
You can buy a network cable from the SiØ bookshop.
IT Operations accepts the temporary use of private wireless access points on the condition that these use channels 1, 6 or 11 in the 2.4Ghz band (IEEE 802111g) or any channel in the 5Ghz band.
If you use other channels, you will weaken the Eduroam wireless network.
If you are experiencing network problems, please try the following:
1. Check your device works in your unit
2. Check if your device works in your neighbour’s unit
3. Check your neighbour’s device is working in their unit
4. Check if your neighbour’s device works in your unit
If at least one device works in each unit, then the problem lies not with the network and the user must check their own device for errors.
If the problem persists, contact the University college’s IT Help services.
Remmen student housing
Large car park on site. You do not need a parking permit to park here.
Stadion student housing
Street parking at your own risk. Free parking is available in Roald Amundsens Gate, behind the stadium.
Bjølstad student housing
At Bjølstad there are about 20 available parking spots. These cost 200 kroner per month and will be allocated based on two criteria: the car must be registered in your name and first come, first served. If you want a parking spot, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org containing your name, address, house number and the car's registration number.
There is available street parking at your own risk outside the D building.
During the periods of moving in and out (June 15 to June 30 and August 1 to August 15) you are allowed to drive into the area without a valid parking permit to unload the car.
The university college’s car park is located 500 meters away from the student the housing. Contact the university college for a parking permit. HiØ has some charging stations available.
SiØ contracts can generally not be cancelled, see clause 3 of your contract. You will need to submit the required information in order to be allowed to cancel your contract. This could be:
Confirmation from the university college that you have ended your studies
Information about who will be taking over your unit
If a new person will be taking over your unit, the person concerned must apply for housing and enter which unit they want to take over in the comments field.

If you move out on the same day your contract ends, you must do so by no later than 12 noon, unless otherwise has been agreed. See clause 15 of your contract. Once your moving out inspection has been completed, you will no longer have access to the unit.
Remember to take all of your belongings with you.
Remember to remove any furniture you brought with you.Remember to check and empty your storage space in case you have anything in there. SiØ empties storage spaces at regular intervals and it takes no responsibility for things that are thrown away after you have moved out.
Remember your bike!
Remember to empty cupboards in communal areas or arrange for those you share with to take them over.
It is important that you are present for the inspection so you can sort out any deficiencies. If you do not report the cleaning and the cleaning has not been approved before you leave, you will not have an opportunity to sort out any deficiencies.

Food allergens and labelling in SiØ Diners
According to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s regulations on food allergies, all places that serve food must provide information about the content of 14 different allergens in their food. Products that are labelled by the producer do not need further labelling, but we label all of the food and drinks we make ourselves.
This is an important area to which we pay constant attention.
You will always find gluten-free and dairy-free products in our outlets. If you can’t find something suitable for you, the staff will always be happy to help. We adjust to your needs.
