All of our housings are furnished with a bed, desk, chair and wardrobe. The kitchen contains the necessary white goods and you have access to a collective laundry.
You should bring the following with you:
A duvet, pillows and bedlinen
Personal belongings and clothes
Towels and soap
A network cable (so you can connect to the Internet before you have been given a username and password for the wireless network)
You must bring your own washing powder to wash clothes. We put out a ‘starter pack’ containing various washing products in shared collectives at the start of the year. Once you run out of soap and cloths, you are responsible for buying more. The packs do not contain washing-up liquid or hand soap.
You can bring your own furniture, but you are not allowed to remove any of the furniture provided.
Rooms in collective:
The kitchens are equipped with basic kitchen equipment. This includes:
pots and pans
trivet for pots and pans
Studio apartments and couple’s apartments:
Students living in studio apartments and couple apartments must bring their own kitchen equipment.
We sell sets of bedlinen for 450 NOK.
These contain a duvet cover, pillow cover and sheet. If you want one, send an email, firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll put it in your room ready for you.
No, SiØ only insures the building complex. You are responsible for insuring your own personal belongings by taking out a private general insurance.
The National Union of Students in Norway offers a tailormade insurance package for students. This includes general-, travel- and accident insurance, everything you need for a secure student life at a student-friendly price.
Food allergens and labelling in SiØ Diners
According to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s regulations on food allergies, all places that serve food must provide information about the content of 14 different allergens in their food. Products that are labelled by the producer do not need further labelling, but we label all of the food and drinks we make ourselves.
This is an important area to which we pay constant attention.
You will always find gluten-free and dairy-free products in our outlets. If you can’t find something suitable for you, the staff will always be happy to help. We adjust to your needs.
Our main message is: Ask us if you have any doubts or want anything special. We can usually help.
See the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s website for more information about allergy labelling.
